My Pal Charlie (UK) lives on his AMEX, as did I several years ago.� It was just easier to put everything on AMEX and at the end of the month.. Pay it all off.� you get a record of all your charges and you can even go in and categorize them.�

Anyway Charlie flew to Miami on Thursday, after making sure his payments were up to date Amex.. They were. As of Oct 4th.� Goes to check into his hotel room, and his Amex is declined.�

now overall i think he owes about 30k in extended payments..way down from the 65k that it was a year or so ago.� heapos;s been paying off in big chunks as the $$ rolled in.�

Plus he called them on Tuesday to make sure his card was cleared and ready to use and even told the agent in the UK that he was traveling starting on Thursday.�

Anyway he put it on his Visa card because it was just 1 night thinking heapos;d clear it up in the AM.� Calls Amex early friday and they tell him (the US) that he has to pay another 3k (his nov. Payment) before theyapos;ll release it to use.� Well he goes into an utter panic.. Because heapos;s looking at a 12 day stay here in Vegas, plus we have 3 meetings of US paying the tab.. And not to mention .. The hotel requires a CC on check in.� He is expecting an influx of cash from a job we did back in Sept and they assure us (i called yesterday) that itapos;s been processed and on the way.�

but his call to Amex was futile. They are refusing to allow any new charges until he pays his bill that isnapos;t even UP until Nov 4th.� So luckily there is an office here in Vegas (heapos;s now in the ATL but not in the city) where he can go and speak with the "birds" there ..one of who he knows very well and weapos;ve taken her to dinner and a few shows.� heapos;s hoping that sheapos;ll be able to clear this up with not much issues but that means just another stop tomorrow.. Which is looking like..

Since we are sponsoring Dinner tomorrow Iapos;m was in a panic and sent an email to Johnny Boy to ask him to up my Palms Points and if worst case scenerio, Orleans wouldnapos;t let him check in without AMEX or enough funding on his Visa, could he get a rack rate at the Palms for a few days.� His rate at the Orleans is 65.00 night .. So really i could cover him for a few nights there myself.�

Amexapos;s reason for all of this?? the chick he called in Miami said.. Havenapos;t you seen the news..there is no credit available to anyone. Now this is a lie.� This is someone who has had his AMex since 1969 and up until maybe a year ago paid every month ON time. Full bill.� and even when he is slow paying itapos;s within the grace period.� so iapos;m not sure what the issue is.. If the chicky in Miami was just using that as an excuse or if she was trying to not tell him.

and his Visa card which has like 700 in available credit.. He stopped at the ATM in the ATL airport to get $$ out.. Was declined.� He made a panic call to Barclays in UK and they said someone was using it stateside.� So from now on he has to let them know when heapos;s traveling.�

I can see itapos;s going to be lotza Roberts/Quiz/ and Mama Hollyapos;s express 101 cooking over the next 2 weeks.�
